IBM and LogicaCMG Win Contract for Shared Service Center Human Resource Management (P-Direkt)

AMSTERDAM , September 2 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM and LogicaCMG have together been awarded a contract to develop the Human Resource Management (HRM) Shared Service Center (P-Direkt) for the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). P-Direkt's aim is to provide all personnel with registration and salary administration from a single collective point. Starting in January 2006, over 130,000 civil servants in twelve departments will have access to P-Direkt's services. The contract is for a term of 7 years with an option to extend it for a further 5 years.

IBM and LogicaCMG will together build the infrastructure and design the operational processes. They will also deliver a broad range of innovative HR solutions for P-Direkt, which includes an electronic HR portal where employees and managers can maintain their own HR data via the Internet. P-Direkt also functions as a help desk for all civil servants. The solution provided by IBM and LogicaCMG also makes it possible for employees to calculate the various options available within the agency's flexible compensation and benefits package based on the so-called cafeteria principle.

IBM and LogicaCMG have designed the ICT infrastructure for P-Direkt as an open, integrated system to which twelve departments are connected. The solution is based on standard software and the best of global experience from both parties.

"The government gains an innovative, future-proof HR-ICT infrastructure which will be provided on demand and will be delivered in January 2006. IBM is designing and developing this infrastructure in collaboration with LogicaCMG based on a performance contract and will also maintain the infrastructure. This solution will enable P-Direkt to offer an efficient, high-quality service to employees and managers within the national government," said Peter van der Voorden, Director of IBM Business Consulting Services, The Netherlands.

IBM and LogicaCMG choose to work as partners on this project because of their complementary competencies and experience in the area of eHR and Shared Service Centers.

Speaking of the agreement, Monique Mulder, international managing director of the industry, distribution and transport (IDT) business at LogicaCMG, said: "There are an increasing number of projects for which extremely high continuity requirements are imposed. In such situations we have already proven that collaboration between IBM and LogicaCMG produces outstanding results."
